Hi Jennifer. Thank you to everyone who wrote me to share what's on their minds and what's concerning them about the impact of the election on their employees, leaders and organizations.
With your input in mind, I put the concerns into categories. Below are the topics we'll talk about in our Navigating to November 3-week class starting on Thursday, July 25:
- What's in your control when things are out of your control
- Calling In: Mitigating employee division
- Guiding leaders on when to speak and what to say
- Prepping people managers
- Preparing for _________ winning the election & the aftermath
- You don't have to say DEI to get the job D-O-N-E
- Encouraging civic duty without being seen as picking a side
- Myth busting "no politics at work": Social ideologies that drive political discussions and impact employee experiences
We'll also save room to respond to news and decisions during our time together.
I know, you'd much rather just focus on work and want all of this to get settled or go away.
But it's not. We need to go into it head-on. Not doing anything is still a choice and after seeing so many of my fellow communicators back on their heels and reacting to events where we could have better planned and be in a better position to respond, I can't not do anything to help you be in a better position.
Join me and your fellow communicators starting Thursday. We'll build strength in community.
